കൊച്ചി: റബ്ബര്‍ അടക്കമുള്ള കാര്‍ഷിക വിളകളുടെ വിലയിടിവുമൂലം പ്രതിസന്ധിയിലായിരിക്കുന്ന കര്‍ഷകസമൂഹത്തിന്റെ ദുരിതങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്‌ കേന്ദ്രസര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അടിയന്തിരമായി ഇടപെട്ട്‌ പരിഹാരം കാണണമെന്ന്‌ അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിച്ച്‌ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഫാര്‍മേഴ്‌സ്‌ മൂവ്‌മെന്റ്‌ (ഇന്‍ഫാം) പ്രതിനിധി സംഘം കേന്ദ്ര വാണിജ്യ വ്യവസായ സഹമന്ത്രി നിര്‍മ്മല സീതാരാമനുമായി കൂടിക്കാഴ്‌ച നടത്തി.

ബിഷപ്‌ മാര്‍ മാത്യു അറയ്‌ക്കലിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ പി.സി.സിറിയക്‌ റിട്ട.ഐഎഎസ്‌, ഷെവലിയര്‍ വി.സി.സെബാസ്റ്റ്യന്‍, ഡോ.എം.സി.ജോര്‍ജ്ജ്‌, പി.സി.ജോസഫ്‌ എക്‌സ്‌ എംഎല്‍എ, മൊയ്‌തീന്‍ ഹാജി എന്നിവരുള്‍പ്പെടുന്ന പ്രതിനിധിസംഘമാണ്‌ ചര്‍ച്ചനടത്തിയത്‌.

വന്യമൃഗശല്യങ്ങളും കാലാവസ്ഥാ വ്യതിയാനങ്ങളും മലയോരമേഖലയില്‍ കൃഷി അസാധ്യമാക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ഗാഡ്‌ഗില്‍, കസ്‌തൂരിരംഗന്‍ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടുകള്‍ ഉയര്‍ത്തുന്ന വെല്ലുവിളികള്‍ സാധാരണക്കാരായ കര്‍ഷകരെ കണ്ണീരിലാഴ്‌ത്തുന്നു. കര്‍ഷകരെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുവാന്‍ ബാധ്യതയും ഉത്തരവാദിത്വവുമുള്ള റബ്ബര്‍ ബോര്‍ഡ്‌ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന്‌ ഒളിച്ചോടുകയാണ്‌. കേന്ദ്രസര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അടിയന്തിര നടപടികള്‍ സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്ന്‌ പ്രതിനിധിസംഘം അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു.

INFAM would like to request for immediate action on the following lines.
1. Re fix the minimum price of R.S.S 4 at Rs. 180 per kg considering the escalation in cost of production. M.S.P was fixed in 1998 as per the direction of Hon?ble Supreme Court.
2. Formulate a national policy for Road rubberization scheme at least in National High ways to increase the internal consumption of Natural Rubber.
3. Enforce total import ban of NR until the imported rubber is fully utilized by the industrialists.
4. Restrict the volume of import of NR only to the actual extent of deficit of production.
5. Increase the import duty at 40% of the price.
6. Restrict the NR import through one or two ports, and implement strict quality checks at the port and make sure that no rubber below the quality of RSS 4 is imported to India.
7. NR imports should be restricted as ?requirement specific? certified by Rubber Board rather than for distorting the price structure or manipulation for domestic market for undue gains.
8. Make necessary checks and controls over the tyre manufacturing companies to ensure the Indian manufactured tyres are having international standard and mileage and take strict actions against the cartelization by tyre industrialists.
9. At least 50,000 Mts of RSS 4 NR should be exported with suitable export subsidy.
10. Necessary directions may be given to the Rubber Board to procure at least one lakh Mts of NR from the market at least @ Rs. 180/- as an immediate arrangement for saving the distressed Rubber Farmers.
11. Make necessary declaration that NR production is an agricultural operation, and the aged Rubber wood is an agricultural produce, enabling the farmers to sell rubber wood anywhere in India.
